| Lending Assistant Job Overview We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Lending Assistant to join our dynamic financial services team. In this vital role, you will support the loan origination and processing functions, ensuring smooth operations from application to approval. Your expertise will help streamline loan workflows, maintain compliance with federal regulations such as TILA (Truth in Lending Act) and Fair Housing laws, and assist in delivering exceptional service to our clients. Duties • Assist loan officers with the preparation and review of loan applications, ensuring all documentation is complete and accurate • Support the underwriting process by gathering necessary financial data and documentation (income, credit reports, assets, etc.) • Input and update loan data in the lending system accurately and timely. • Communicate with customers to gather necessary information and provide update on loan status. • Manage loan files meticulously, maintaining organized records for audits and future reference. • Coordinate with underwriters, appraisers, title companies and other third parties to facilitate smooth loan processing and funding. • Perform basic math calculations for income verification, debt-to-income ratios, and escrow estimations using ten key typing skills. • Review contracts, disclosures, and legal documents related to loans to ensure accuracy and adherence to banking standards. • Monitor disbursement of construction and development loans. • Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective communication, coordination and working relations with bank personnel and with management. • Respond to customer inquiries with professionalism and confidentiality. • Ensure adherence to company policies and applicable lending regulations. Requirements • High school diploma or equivalent. • Previous experience in banking, lending, or administrative support (preferred). • Knowledge of loan processing procedure is a plus. • Strong organizational and multitasking skills. • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and lending software. • Strong communication dn customer service skills. • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail for managing multiple files simultaneously. • Proficiency in basic math calculations essential for financial assessments and escrow estimations. • Ability to operate ten key typing efficiently for data entry tasks. • Strong communication skills to coordinate effectively with clients, vendors, and internal teams.
